16.November Stuttgart, Alte Schokoladenfabrik Friedel, Canstatt
Yes it´s true, the Gipsies come to Germany. The Party will take place in an old chocolate fabric that is used by some students for organising great parties. And you can believe me! It´s the most "gipsyresque" Party on the Tour. No Entry, cheap beer, cheap cocktails and a crazy crowd of people ready to rock the house till the early morning! And if that wasn't enough a special guest from UPITUP will perform LIVE riht after the movie. So expect a crazy Party that represents the electronical, experimental music we took for some parts, so it´s not time to rock, it´s time to get f#*&§> crazy!
17. November Innsbruck, Blue Chip Club
After their Partytrip to Germany the Gipsies head back to their homecountry Austria to rock the crowd in Innsbruck! As it looks right now it´s going to be a white party thanks to the loads of snow going down right now!

No Shots at all
My last trip this season and at the same time the first i came home from without a single shot. I think everything came together: Bad weather, bad park, strange Rails, whatever! People were unbelievable helpful and it was interesting to have a look at the mountains at Hohe Tatra. I think it´s definitely worth the trip and I´m looking forward to check it out again next season! Basti
10.06.07 Lappland
Rendeers, Ice and a lot of Puke.
When we arrived to Finnland we were asked for the expectations we had for the trip. We had good parks, huge kickers, icy pipes, rendeers and beautiful blond girls with blond hair in mind. Like it is with expectations, mostly they won´t be fullfilled. Yes we found icy pipes and some reendeers but no huge kickers or beautiful girls.

We started our in trip in Rovaniemi where we arrived by plane. From there 2 hours by car to Levi, one of Lapplands biggest Skiresorts. It was kind of hard to get some footage because the parks and the pipe were not in good conditions. So it took some days to get the pipe shaped for filming. On the other hand we had some fresh snow and some funny powderruns through the finish woods and a f%&§! drunken birthdayparty with Matevz. The bad thing: After that heavy drinking a really bad virus started to spread around our crew. In the end for the next 6 days 7 of 10 people were puking really hard for at least one day and TMT had to go to hospital for infusions because he had the disease right after the party.

When we came to the next Resort, a three hours drive more north, we were looking out for the big change. But again there was just a really bad park waiting for us and weather was still changing from minute to minute. Finally we managed to get one good jumb build up with the great help of the Resort Saariselkä and Joni! The most impressing thing in Finnland was the light. It is really different to middle Europe. There was already light till after ten and we had a lot of never ending sunsets. After all a funny and interesting trip to the deep north of Finnland. Check the Movie for this Trip

Snickers Classic & Popcorn Wallride (19.-22.04.07):
TTR 3* event - Organized and hosted by Fredi Kalbermatten & Marco Schwab
It was the final stop of this years Ticket to Ride Tour. And it was a really nice event!
I was the third time in Saas Fee and I always like to go there because it’s such a nice place with such nice people. And I got invited instead of my bro Chris Kröll because he injured his knee in Canada this February. I went there with Mone Monsberger and Friedl Kolar to represent the Ästhetiker crew! We went there on Thursday. In the evening there was already the first concert feat. Scott Sullivan. What a concert!!!!! Thanks Scott!
The park was really nice. The line included a little cliff drop, a big kicker with about 17 m, a step-up roller with about 15 m and a nice butter snow box at the end. On Friday would have been the final but they decided to do just a session and free training that day. Sick! So they did the finals and the Super final on Saturday! Two final heats, both with an hour of jam session. So everyone did 3 runs. The best 6 riders of each heat advanced to the Super finals. I got second behind Fredi Kalbermatten in my final heat. Doing fs7 tail, cab 9, BS rodeo 5, BS 7, BS 5 off the butter box and bs1 off the cliff.

12 riders have been to the super final.3 runs each again. The riding level was very high in the Super finals. I had nice runs and a lot of variety of tricks. I did fs5 and BS 5 off the cliff, cab 9, FS 9, sw BS 9, BS rodeo 5, sw BS 7, cab 7 and cab1 on to backflip off the butter box. So I got 3rd and I’m really stoked!!! It’s an amazing season ending for me!
Slopestyle Results:
1. Nicolas Müller (CH), 2. Juuso Laivisto (FIN), 3. Rudi Kröll (AUT), 4. Frederik Kalbermatten (CH), 5. Alessandro Boyens (GER), 6. Antony ‘TonTon’ (CH)
This last TTR contest puts me in 82nd position in the world ranking list. With just 4 TTR results out of 6 you would need. Nice little bonus.
Yeah!! Saturday night and another party night!! Live on stage with A.F. (Allpot Futsch)!! Really nice Swiss Punk Band! Daniel Bumann is the guitarist which I was riding with in the Völkl Team a few years ago. Nice to meet him again and see him and his band live for the first time.
On Sunday was the Popcorn Wallride which took place right at the Popcorn Plaza on the mountain. Because of to much drinking action I had just a little session. Friedl Kolar was doing pretty got with nice Fastplants among others. I thought he would have been top 3 but placed 4th. Eöööhhh
Wallride Results:
1.Denis Supersaxo (CH), 2. Nicolas Müller (CH), 3. Reto Odermatt (CH), 4. Friedl Kolar (AUT), 5. Christian Weber (SUI), 6. Andy Monsberger (AUT)

Before we hit the road home we listened to some more tunes from Scott Sullivan. Thanks Scott for playing me a Good Bye song! I like! It was blue sky and spring temperatures. Not really motivating for an 8 hour drive back home.

12.04.07 Andorra
Alex Papis with Rudi, Michi and Simon back from Andorra
After tearing down our `tents``at the monstersession in lenzerhaide we where convoiing 15 hours to the total fight contest in Andorra. On board: rudi kröll, quentin robbins, michi stanschitz, simon schweiger, jens anselstetter and chis garside. Coming to the moutain we found a pretty sick parksetup with many different lines to challenge. I never expected it to be that good. After the quali michi stanschitz hat to quit the contest because he knuckeld on a jump. He came to short and hurt his knee (i hope he is getting better soon!). The finals took place in changing weather and in the end the judges weren´t on our side so we din´t make it to the podium. A little bit pissed after an obvious misjudged contest we made plans for the rest of the trip. The weather preview for the next days was really bad so we decided not to go for a surf in san sebastian, what had been our good weather plan, but to go to marseille to skate the bowl. At the end i expected more of that trip (picturewise) but all in all it was superfun to hang out with the boys travelling throgh half of europe.

Pipe session in Ounasvaara, Finnland

It was a sunny Friday in Rovaniemi and we had a chance to ride freshly groomed super pipe in Ounasvaara... perfect! Ounasvaara is a weird resort. It’s located in the heart of Rovaniemi, which is the biggest city in Lappland. It’s similar to Nord Park in Innsbruck when thinking of the distance from the city, but the difference is, that one can walk to the lifts. It is a fact, that when the resorts are already closed in southern part of Finland, one can still find icy pipes from the north. Check out Ounasvaara and Rovaniemi.

It was cool that Ounasvaara groomed the pipe just for us. It was almost like a private session! Most of the credits for making this session work belong to Mikko Lönnström, who is one of the resort owners. He was stoked about our film crew and was willing to shape the pipe according to our wishes. Thanxs Mikko, let’s do this again next spring!
Greets, Ilkka
Mitch in Norway
Hi there, arrived in the tamok valley in the north of norway and we cant see most of the mountains as the weather is rainy and windy. we hope it will calm down soon to get some runs in that beautifull terrain.
have a good one, Mitch

Buffi and Marc Swoboda at Hochkar
Marc Swoboda and I went to Hochkar to check out the resort. The Hochkar is located between the East and the West of Austria, and it’s one of the the most underrated resorts. The park was small but good. Before we were shredding this one we made our way through the backcountry. There are a lot of good backcountry spots. We had the shaper Christian with us and he guided us to a nice kicker spot. After shooting a Bc kicker we checked out the park. There are a few boxes and a kicker. We were shooting the boxes and I could not believe how good Marc was riding those obstacles. Ask for a trick - he would do it with amazing style. It’s pretty easy to shoot with him, cause he will do it first try. Watch out for this guy!!! At the end we had a bunch of good tricks on tape. So as you can see Hochkar attends on a lot of opportunities and you can find a lot of things to have fun on a day of snowboarding. Thanks for the support at Hochkar, we will be back for sure! Buffy

28.03.07 Kitz, the second!
Villes first time in powder! Ville joined Migl, Matevz and Woidl at the Kitzsteinhorn. He and the others had a super good time there. Ville sticked his first jump ever in powder, a huge C5, perfect. He and the rest of the crew were just stoked about it. Ville was the man, he sticked also C9, BS7, Halfcab and SWBS1. Mateuz got bad luck at the second day, he cut his lip after a bad slam at a huge step-down jump. He has three stiches in the lip and is looking like a boxer now. Check the Movie for this Trip

Some more News from Rudi: ”Yesterday it happend. Last weekend we planed the Sweet Spot with the Speedglider, Roman as the skier and me as the snowboarder. We filmed it yesterday in Zell am Ziller in the Zillertal. It was a sunny day and the conditions were kinda perfect. We did the whole filming on one day. In the morning we met at romans place to film the intro with discussing the plan, looking at the picture. Then we went up on the mountain. The three of us had each a helmet camera plus we had one filmer opposite the mountain and one filmer hiking with us filming us hiking, preparing, droping. We did three lines. Because of having no expirience of doing a shot like this we didn't really know about the speed differences between us and the speedglider. It worked better from run to run and the third run we really got everything good togheter. After the action we were sitting at a beer in front of a nice mountain hut discussing what happend, how the day was, how the spot was, ....

We actually were still sitting there and taking shots when the Gondola was already closed.“ Rudi is on the way to Andorra with the Völkl Boys. Good luck.
The Gipsys will go to Hochkar Hochkar and Lenzerheide soon, to check out these two nice resorts.
22.03.07 Sad News!
Max Weikl and Marc out for the rest of the season!
Marc has a rupture of the cruciate ligament of knee and needs a surgery, Marc, good luck! Max Weikl broke his collarbone and needs also a longer break. Both outfalls strike the film production in time, where a lot of pow pow goes down on the austrian alps! Marc, Max, we wish you the best. Keep on smiling and work hard on your comeback!
15.03.07 Powder!
In Flachauwinkl we finally found some good Pow Pow last week, now we are at the Kitzsteinhorn, and we have good conditions again. Ilkka, Woidl and Migl stomped some nice Tricks. Ilkka defenitly killed it with a 40m long C9! Mateuz and Herby joined the Crew yesterday, and they are riding also like hell! Thanks to the Kitz for their support. We had a great time here.
By the way...Rudi Kroell 2nd at the Austrian Masters! Congratulations, Rudi!

05.03.07 Dachstein
Searching...
with Flo Mausser, Ilkka Ojansivu, Bernd Mandlberger and Woidl Fanninger. Ilkka about the session: Another day looking for pow..well, we did find some..not the best, but also not the worst. It was a cliff drop at the dachstein glacier. I landed a half cab..not too stoked about it, but it was cool to do something else than just hang out in the hotel room.
It's kinda annoying at the moment in the backcountry, not that many possibilities.. I guess we have had five step-down kickers in a row..not the best for filming huge stuff. Let's see, maybe we come up with something better in the next days.

04.03.07 Slovenia again

30.1.2007 Some news from Mitch
Hi there
Just had some really good powderdays but broke my little finger in pieces yesterday. Updated my homepage today (thanks winnie)- www.mitch.at

29.1.2007 Hi everybody!
The Fat Gipsy Crew is back again!
In Fall 2007 our new movie “SNAPSHOT” will be out to entertain you. In our blog you will find news from the shootings, written by the filmers, riders and fotografers from the Fatgipsycrew. Marc Andre Tarte is one of the new Faces in Snapshot. He and Ilkka Ojansivu already started filming in Marcs Homeressort Whistler with our canadian filmer Philippe. Financemogul and producer naisi bought two sleds in whistler for the gipsy crew.
Illkas first Trip to Whistler:
My trip to Whistler wasn’t a great success. When I arrived there everything looked promising..it was bluebird and snow conditions were perfect. Four days later, when the filmer and finnish photographer arrived, weather changed totally. Basically it was rain and snow for two weeks with only two days ok weather. On the first sunny day our car didn’t start so we couldn’t pull our three sleds to the mountains. The second sunny day the snow was already bad ’cause it had been raining to the very top of the mountains..it was crusty as hell.
It was really frustrating for two weeks. I had put so much pressure for myself to do well and even brought a finnish photographer to join me. Whistler backcountry is so amazing and there would be so much to do but we didn’t even build a single kicker..it was such an overwhelming experience for me.
Basically we ended up taking lifestyle pictures for two weeks. On the last day we went to blackomp park where we had two hours of sun. In these two hours we got some good pictures from the pipe. This was the only highlight of the trip as it comes to pictures.

In any case this trip to Whistler was really educative. I learned to ride snowmobiles the hard way..in the first day I rolled my sled big time..it was a miracle that I didn’t hurt myself. I was going up this really steap powder face but couldn’t get up..I tried to turn around but didn’t really know how..I crashed and rolled with the sled few times in the pow until the sled finally stopped. After this experience it was just fun with the sleds and I really learned to enjoy it while also staying alive while doing it. It just takes so much time to learn how to handle these 800cc monsters.
We are still not in Panic about the shitty Winter in Europe. Werni Stock and Seppi Scholler did some rails in january, but they are hungry for powpow, like everyone in europe.

Barni is our new Filmer. With his 9Meter long crane he gives us new perspectives. Thanks Barni and welcome to the team!

02.04.07 Norway, Finnland and Austria

Hi there, arrived in the tamok valley in the north of norway and we cant see most of the mountains as the weather is rainy and windy. we hope it will calm down soon to get some runs in that beautifull terrain.
have a good one, Mitch

05.03.07 Dachstein
with Flo Mausser, Ilkka Ojansivu, Bernd Mandlberger and Woidl Fanninger.

Marco Grilc has been to vogel. He is filming with Standard again this year, but you will see some funny stuff from him in Snapshot.

30.1.2007 Some news from Mitch
Just had some really good powderdays but broke my little finger in pieces yesterday. Updated my homepage today (thanks winnie)- www.mitch.at

29.1.2007 Hi everybody!
